Self-Description
I like to go for an unusual end result, using familiar items to get there. A lot of my pieces are 3-D, crafted from recycled pieces of wire, glass, jewels, etc. I also enjoy making jewelry from these same materials.
In another vein entirely, I love to manipulate my photographs into something other than what the camera sees.
Bio
My work is based on the belief that art reflects concepts of both the artist and the viewer, which is why mirrors are often incorporated into my pieces. My eclectic training ranges from art courses at the American School in Japan to classes at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD. I've designed sets for the Little Theatre of Alexandria, I have pieces hanging at the Fairfax INOVA Hospital, and in private homes from California, to Wisconsin, to the east coast. My mediums include oil, water color, photography, ink, collage, mosaics, and jewelry design.
